  once this book gains momentum it becomes hilarious and moves at a frantic, almost hurried pace that helps you feel the anxieties and neurosis of the narrator. Portnoy's Complaint is very well executed and stays comical the whole way through. it has been some time since i read an author and wanted to go devour the rest of his work, but with Roth that is exactly what i wanted--to go find another of his books and see what else he has to offer.
