  (10 Out of 10) As one of the best directed films of its type, the Brian DePalma film Carrie (1976) is mesmerizing, tantalizing, and perfect. As a look into adolescent isolation, sexual repression, and growing rage, the film depicts a stoic and religious outsider being tormented by a modern clique of sex-and-drug loving teenagers. This memorable look at the role that friendship and bullies take in the evolution of one’s heart and soul is often not as perfected in cinema as it was here. A grand, masterful portrait on teenage anguish.
