  (6.3 Out of 10) The often vastly overrated first from The Strokes, Is This It?, often feels fragmented in conception and skimpy in sound. Really only reaching perfection with the last track Take It Or Leave It, the second tune The Modern Age is melancholic and works despite sounding too much like The Velvet Underground. Still as the one better-than-fair early point in the album is the one moment in which you warm up to it, because the rest seems too plain.
